Allison and I went spent some much overdue time today doing something other than work. Sitting down to a quiet and decadent breakfast at York Market, we shared what we call ‘Soul Checks’… a completely honest valuation of how things are going. Are we still in a happy place, how do we feel things are going, how could they improve? Sometimes the constant flurry prevents slow moments to delve deep and see how we’re really feeling. Not wanting resentment to fester or joy to spoil, we aim to have these Soul Checks once a quarter. No judgment, just a simple and brutally honest conversation.
A few concerns were lifted, our course corrected and mild adjustments to be made…otherwise, all is clear. Smooth sailing til next quarter! Honesty in friendship and most especially in business seems a necessary must.
